USA Today Bestselling author Nicole Flockton writes sexy contemporary romances, seducing you one kiss at a time as you turn the pages. Nicole likes nothing better than taking characters and creating unique situations where they fight to find their true love.
On her first school report her teacher noted “Nicole likes to tell her own stories”. It wasn’t until after the birth of her first child and after having fun on a romance community forum that she finally decided to take the plunge and write a book. Now with over 20 books published she hasn’t looked back.
Apart from writing Nicole is busy looking after her very own hero – her wonderfully supportive husband, and two fabulous kids. She also enjoys watching sports and, of course, reading.
Thanks for having me on your blog today MC. Happy to be here and meet your readers!
Prior to Christmas 2009, I knew exactly what was going to happen. Breakfast at my aunt’s with my dad’s extended family. A tradition that is many decades old. Lunch would either be at my place, my sisters or my brother’s with my immediate family and their families. And then dinner would be back home and my husband’s mum would come over. Christmas was fully of family, love and laughter and I loved every single busy second of it.
In August 2009 I moved from Perth, Western Australia to Houston Texas. Christmas has never quite been the same since. It’s cold, for one, although not snow cold and it’s just my husband and my kids. We have a great time, but it doesn’t feel like Christmas to me.
Over the years we’ve taken some holidays. In 2010 we went to Estes Park in Colorado to experience a White Christmas. It didn’t snow on Christmas Day, in fact we only really had one day of snow actually falling. But there was snow on the ground and the kids had a great time.
In 2014 we went to Disney World. Orlando was experiencing an unusual ‘cold’ spell. Also my husband got sick with a terrible cold on Christmas Day so we wandered around Animal Kingdom in the rain and had chicken strips for lunch. But it was Disney World and it was awesome.
Christmas Eve 2016 was pretty special, we were in Boston and we had tickets to see our favorite NFL team, the New England Patriots play on their home ground. Christmas Day was forgettable but that year, Christmas Eve was one I’m not going to forget any time soon.
So while I may not have had my usual Christmas and I miss my family terribly at that time of year. I can’t deny I’ve been extremely lucky to make some wonderful memories over the past 9 years.
In my latest release “Christmas in Ghost Gum Springs” Diana, is a fish out of water looking for a new adventure. She’s travelled from small town Montana USA, where her Christmases stopped being Christmas when she turned thirteen, to hot sunny Australia. Getting stranded in the middle of nowhere when her car breaks down isn’t in her holiday plan.
Connor is a lover of all things Christmas, like ridiculously so, and rescues Diana, bringing her to the one place she doesn’t want to be—a small town. He is determined to show her that Christmas is a special time and no one should spend the day alone.
She’s a long way from home, and definitely not in the Christmas spirit…
Diana Jenkins’ dream vacation has turned into a nightmare. First, her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, Australia. Then she’s rescued by a tall, blonde Aussie who won’t take her back to Sydney, only to the blink–and–you’ll–miss–it town of Ghost Gum Springs. Finally, the rental car company won’t be able to deliver her a new car until after the holidays. So now she’s hot, jet–lagged, and stuck in a small town just like the one she’s trying to escape. Australian small towns won’t be any different from Montana small towns, and Diana wants out.
A lover of all things Christmas, Connor Shetland is determined to bring the Christmas spirit to the small town of Ghost Gum Springs. Stepping away from his law career to run the local pub for three months is the best decision he’s ever made, and now he’s relaxed, cheerful, and ready to take on even the grinchiest of Scrooges. He just didn’t expect Scrooge to be quite so attractive.
With Diana’s mistrust of small town life and her plans thrown awry, Connor has his work cut out for him. But Christmas miracles never come easy, but they come to those who need them the most.
